Over the past five years this site’s amassed an enormous amount of content. To help you find the highlights, I’ll be taking a wander through the archives each Sunday.

This week – Dip Variations.

When it comes to bodyweight training, dips are a staple (throw in a few sets after your presses and you’ll understand why).

Here are just a few of my favourite variations of this wonderful exercise :

  • Ring Dips (with Progressions)
First up, a staple of ring training – the Ring Dip. Three common variations shown.

  • Hopper Dips
Looking for a challenge? Try the plyometric Hopper Dips shown here.
  • Korean Dips
Here’s another great way to test yourself – the Korean Dip.

  • Band Assisted Dips
If you’re just starting out, here’s a simple way to work up to the full bodyweight version. Just add bands.
  • Swinging Dips to 45 Degrees
Finally, try these. Yep, they’re hard.
